i'd make sure that you get a line driver and make sure that all you wire is as thick as you can afford. make your ground wire bigger than your power wire. clean all your connections from batt to car , from batt to amp, from amp to ground ,etcall of them and pay a shop to rta the system after you put it all together(to find out the extact note you should burp at and what settings to set your head unit to. you need to learn how to burp also if you don't know yet. keep you system cool and don't play it before your burp. good luck

It's a small thing, make sure your ground to your amps are less than .4 ohms. Alot of people over look this. It's the same thing as runnning too small of power wire etc. Use a DVM to check...cheers...oh yeah, it's cheap!

Unless your CD player is putting out a very weak signal, I doubt there would be a very significant improvement in SPL with a line driver. Its nice to be able to turn your gains down, to reduce noise, but if you have a fart can SPL box, I doubt that noise reduction is high on your list of priorities

he wanted suggestion and he got some. you don't know if something works until you try it. It's great that you might have tried it yourself and got no new results, at least now you know not to invest your money in a line driver. but at least you tried it. i'm sure that everyone with line driver will feel better thinking that they made a bad investment. as far as dodge shadow. i'm sure he posted here so he can get some insights of what others have tried. so he himself can weigh the pros and cons and then decide for himself. good luck

I was just saying for spl there are probably better investments than a linedriver (expecially when you are on a budget)..
I never said it was a bad investment, i just said i've never seen them actually help spl.. but like someone said if someone has a deck with a very weak signal, it would probably be a good idea to throw one of there to help reduce the chance of distortion and possible blown equipment..

i didn't mean to sound so negative. oops. but you are right. i'm sure That dodgeshadow can probably go up without even spending a dime.
box design is extremely crucial. no doubt about that.
as far as us. we did have a crappy deck. and aline driver did help(couldn't afford the head unit we wanted). still can't. but a line driver helped us get up a bit more.
