What to do?
I'm a total noob when it comes to car audio and I need some help.
A friend of mine gave me an amplifier, specifically a Planet Audio PA6005 5 channel 700w(100x4 + 300x1)amp in the hopes that I would put together a decent system so he would no longer have to listen to the junk I currently have.Right now I'm using a 4 yr/old Sony Xplode head unit(cd)with (2)6" pheonix Gold speakers mounted in the doors and (2)5 1/2" x 7 1/2" PG's in the rear (stock mustang locale).I plan on keeping the speakers and purchasing a new head unit.
What I need to know (because I have no clue) is what is the best way to go using this amp as the starting point.I really don't want to add alot of weight to the car, so I would prefer the system to be as small as possible but still be able to provide some thump. This is strictly for listening enjoyment not competition or parking lot bragging rights.I'm looking for tight crisp bass and good quality sound.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jim
