What do I buy???
What do I buy???
Hi Everyone
Can I just say I know the questions I’m going to ask are going to be so simple for you to answer but I just don’t really have a clue on car audio and don’t want to mess it up! So sorry for my complete lack of know!
I want to purchase a sub and amp to go in my 2016 Ford Transit. I want to use the existing head unit (manufacturer supplied) and all original speakers. I don’t need bass that makes your ***** tingle! I just need a good quality punch. I have been looking into purchasing an Alpine MRX-M55 mono amp 5000 Watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms and an Alpine R-W10D2 10” sub 750 watt RMS. Basically I haven’t got a clue but I thought this would be what I need plus I did have an old Type R and Alpine amp about 10 years ago and sounded great (then I got a bit skint hence buying again!).
Before I got my Type R, I had bought twin Audiobahn subs and amp which sounded awful even though I spent a huge amount of money on them. I’m now thinking I wired it up all wrong and they could’ve sounded great!
My questions are;
Would this sub and amp work well together?
What wiring kit would I need to buy?
Do I need a special adapter for my head unit?
Is my head unit compatible?
How would I wire these up?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Brad
