What do you think about this AMP kit?
I found this on e-bay:
NEW PHOENIX GOLD 4 GAUGE AMPLIFIER INSTALLATION AMP KIT - (eBay item 270181705709 end time Nov-08-07 18:12:36 PST) I have a shitty XS 10'' sub with a cheapo 400w amp, but I will eventualy upgrade. Should I jump on this wiring kit? They seem much more expensive in stores (Canadian Tire, Future Shop, etc.). :smokin: |
voodoo wires
Hi pap nice ride
last couple of years i have been playing around in the home theatre thing and it is most amusing the hours of discussion on cables. Please check out this web page as it gives a lot of basic info on car audio from soup to nuts http://www.bcae1.com/ |
Hey thanks, shes a 1985 ;)
I have found this, which is a bit cheaper: eBay.ca: 4 Gauge car Amp Wire Kit - Easy & Clean install NEW (item 110187852441 end time 08-Nov-07 16:30:31 EST) Thanks for that site, it's helped me in the past. I'll read up some more.... |
for $70 all in i don't think it's a deal.... you can buy one of a vendor here for same price if not better I'm sure. Smartass had a $105 deal for a 0 guage kit not too long ago.
Just my $0.02 |
Thanks for your input Tonez. I don't think I'd ever need 0 gauge though.

in my past experiance with PG wiring, i would say go with it simply because it likely has a higher strand count than that other kit. ive had some wiring before that says 4ga on the jacket but in reality only has as much copper as an 8ga run, just the jacket is twice as thick to make it look like 4 ga. that second kit kinda looks like raptor brand, which IMO is crap.
i am pretty sure PG is still putting out real 4ga, though i could be wrong edit: get an 8ga kit if you want to save money. unless your amp is going to draw some crazy current, you wont need 4ga anyway (especially if you arent planning to upgrade) |
