What do you think about this deck?
I just picked up a 1985 Saab 900 Turbo and the stock Pioneer head unit is, well, old as hell. The cassette player doesn't even work so I thought I'd guy a pretty good CD deck. I don't really want to spend more then 200$ on one. I want to eventually get some speakers and a 10" sub.
After a bit of recherche, as of now I'm looking at the Pioneer DEH-P2900MP. It seems to be great and would look good in my car. What do you guy's think? http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...908782BBD3187B |

It's a good deck. I had it installed in my parents car and it's a pretty smooth machine. The display is hard to see in the daytime and the song info doesn't always stay displayed...but maybe that's something that can be adjusted. I really didn't play with it very much.

Upgrade just a little bit more into the Premiere DEHP390MP. It will add a no charge 2 year warranty and a dedicated subwoofer preout with level control. It is not that much more $ and will allow you easier expansion in the future if you like.

Hey, thanks for the reply's. That was one thing I wanted to make sure; futur upgradability. I don't know much about car audio, so I chose the low-mid range DEHP2900MP because it would look good in my car.
But now that you mention it, the DEHP3900MP is the SAME price at futureshop. Seems like a no brainer to go with the 3900 then! Is that the only difference between the two? |
Actually, I was looking at the 3900 not the 390 (Premier). Futureshop doesn't seem to carry it.... :eyes:
