Horns are even harder to calculate than ported sub boxes.
There is throat size (where you attache the driver)
Mouth size (the opening in front)
the taper (what is the curve and length of the horn form the throat to mouth)
and more.
In for calculations!

I can't imagine that to be a big driver either... a 10" at most?

Avantegarde ftw! American Sound in Richmond Hill carries them.

I don't need to do any calculations to tell you that it wouldn't work as a horn at subbass frequencies.....

Indeed. There is not enough air to effectively load the horn.

how much louder would a horn for a sub box be then just a straight circular port?

what does it sound like?

Just as a comparison
Normal car subwoofers are 85-90 Db/watt
Bass horns easily are over 100db and even 105db/watt
So 105db is 100 times more efficent than 85 db

that is 100 times less watts needed...or 20db more spl for the same watts.

yea... notta..... the horn will act just like a port....

even in a large room with phat cabinates no one plans to tune over 80hz.... it just dosen't make sense..... you want subbass ???? plan on building a horn thats as large as your house......

I think a proper horn for a 10" is about 40-50 feet long...
