what sub is better?

I just purchased the Rockford Fosgate p8002 amp , and i have a 2000 civic si coupe, i wanted to know what sub is better. iam currently looking at the rockford fosgate p3's , Alpine 12typer, orion sub, or the kaption cl 12 series.

What do you guys think will give a better base, and a nice cleaner base that will make my car been herd from far awayyyyy.. lol:stroke:

AND also how big our the speakers in the front doors for the civic 6x5 or 6x9?

twistedsickness 01-06-2007 08:57 PM

Im taking it its your Civic. Front doors are 6.5 the back are 6x9's tweeters are 3/4

k thx man , wut sub is better lol

800 watts RMS x 1 @ 2 ohms, so you need 2, 4 ohm that will handle 400 wrms each or 1, 2 ohm sub that will take all 800 wrms.

2 alpine type r's would work nice, or 1 type X.
2 rf p3's would also work nice. I've seen and heard both.

I've used pioneer or kicker myself, both have subs in the right power range for a 1 or 2 sub setup

how are 2 kaption 12 cl series, ive herd they hit really hard is that true?, will those sound better then p3 and type r?

FusionMadsen 01-06-2007 11:09 PM

The subs you provided as examples arent even in the same classes... P3's would never keep up with something like an Orion H2...

A Digital Designs DD3512 and the proper slot port box should shake some fillings loose and render the mirror pretty much useless.

Vince01 01-07-2007 01:19 AM

i dont want the orion h2 lol i was lookin at the orion hp 12's how are those?

yeah, I had a DD3512 hooked up to a RF 800.2 I was doing 141.7 without tuning. It is a good combo though. :smilie_da

it is true! they do thump pretty hard.

Out of the list you provided I have long been an Orion fan over the other gear. I assume you are looking at the HP series vs. the H2. The HP subs are just built awsome.

Vince01 01-07-2007 10:38 AM

i guess its between the digital design, and the kaption, or orion, wut 1 would give better a bigger base?

Brad-S.A. 01-07-2007 11:03 AM

To be honest most likely the DD. :) But it was not on your list. :p

Vince01 01-07-2007 11:17 AM

how much do those DD go for? iam not looking to spend alot lol

As I have explained to you before the Kaption Cl's are very good subs and are a great bang for your buck. Everyone is gonna give you a different opinion, my suggestion is go and listen for yourself and make up your mind from there.

Go and buy the Kaptions man........more than enough bass output, good sensitivity so you dont have to feed them TONS of power, and very nice sound quality. But I'm a huge Kaption fan so I guess my opinion is bias........
