i love that amp rack! that 2000.1D looks pretty powerful, good luck on the TL and keep us posted:) nice setup IMO

well tried the tl...ended up frying the sub. thought the l7 could take more of a beating than that. very dissapointed in it. didnt even get to the high #'s. started at 33hz and got to 35..smoke any ideas?

gains set too high? too much distortion? i figured an L7 could take a huge beating too, but i'm not an expert by any means.. the tones were playing above the tuning frequency so it couldnt have bottomed out. i'd say a distorted signal, but i could be wrong.. esp if you had your gains down. anyone else?

sorry to hear about the loss of your L7, btw

Just out of curiousity did you break in the sub with a test tone for a period of time?

hm. Gigantic amp, older Honda...

Do anything to the electrical system before firing up that amp?

I hate L7.

I've fried them too. Actually done some pretty weird stuff to the old onese, like shooting the coil through the cone. lol...it was odd.

Anyway, I've never heard an L7 that sounded good or even close to it.

BTW, nice amp rack. But damn, thats a little overkill on the screws holding the box. You know that putting more screws than you need actually makes the box weaker, the screws split the MDF.

The best thing to do is use some tight bond, and then run a screw every 4-5 inches after you nail it together.

thanks for the input guys, yes ive upgraded the magic 3 under the hood so older wiring shouldnt be a problem. as for the screws...lol yea its overkill but not bad for my first box? theres prob a few things i would do differnently next time. as for the gains, i dont believe they were set to high or to low, everything was mint when music was playin, as soon as i put in the tone cd thats when things started smokin.

I have trouble with a tone CD I made and a tone CD that was bought, the burnt one didn't clip while the bought one clipped earlyier
