Hey all wondering whats a better amp, I had a JL500 loved it, got stolen... now i can get another one from someone ..

My subs are 2 12" mtx 6000z svc 4 + 4 ohm in a duo ported box.

I can get the JL used, min condition for $350
Or a new refurbed Kicker DX700 for $300

whats the better bang for the buck? how much difference between the two?

JL makes awesome sounding amps and it will be cleaner than the kicker, but that kicker does about 900wrms....id go with the kicker.

hummmmm,
the JL will be cleaner... not by much though.
however, what's the internal condition of the JL?
the dx700 will do about 800 wrms, not 900.

Iam leaning more towards the kicker kuz its more rms.. but someone told me JL is veryy underrated?

also my subs are 4ohm can i run them at 2??

you can wire tehm to the amp so the amp sees 2 ohms and puts out optimum power. btw, the Kicker will whoop the JL's butt.

some may say that they can hear the difference between two amps... i don't think you'll be doing that... i think either amp will perform to your full expectations!

TAKE that kicker NOW damnit!

Those are the older line that kicker made and are very reliable amps and put out nutso power. IMO they are WAY better than the crappy POS's that kicker has now.

I would say pick up the kicker, very reliable amps and you will be getting atleast 800wrms from that amp.

JL amps arent underrated, they have a regulated power supply so they wont produce much more power. for the 500/1 I have heard maybe 550-600wrms at the most from them.
