Are you wanting to listen to your music or just be loud and annoying? I would still run a 12" or dual 12" system and Morel on the front end is a great start. I have a hell of a deal on a high end 4 channel amp right now that would be a nice addition to the system.

i want to be able to listen and enjoy my music and be loud and annoying when i feel the need. i just feel one 12 wouldnt be enough but i dont have any experience with a single sub only 2 10's so i dont know. another question would be, would a 12 in a 3.5 - 4 cu ft box be louder than a 15 in a 3.5-4 cu ft box?

There are many factors that will make one sub louder than the other so a blanket statement of fact I will not make about that. Choose the items carefully. Any sub in the right custom box, with the right amp is going to deliver it's full potential. I think you would be quite surprised at what some of the even basic subs properly set up can deliver for results when done properly. I can tell you that for me personally, if I had your vehicle and your speakers, there is no way that I would be doing a 15" sub for my personal use of listening to music. A 12" or dual 12" is going to be far more than ample.

If you set the gain appropriately it shouldn't be an issue, and there is something to be said for having extra headroom...
Many 12's require more air space then many 15's.. so you can't make a direct comparison... you'll have to pick some subs to choose from and decide how much box space you have and if you want to go sealed or ported.. then winisd the respose curves..
