what's comparable to JL 12W6V2?
in terms of build quality, SPL, SQ and box size (no more than 1 - 1.25cu.ft). I need something that hits hard and loud, goes low while providing proper tonal response. Has to be lower in price than the JL.

Eclipse aluminum cone does wonders for output in a small box.

These subs have always been tonally accurate. They are one of my favorite subs to use in a small sealed box application. Great depth extension, not a one note wonder and they can indeed play to a respectable volume level. The next question is though, it is available in a dvc 4 version or the step up model is a single 4. What sort of power handling do you need and what VC arrangement?

SW7200 would be the choice for you. Retail on this sub is #379.99, enterprising dealers may sell for less. Send me a PM please.

Eclispe info
Edit, sorry, ment to send this off as a pm, but was too late.
Hey MR2NR, was just curious to know if you had any info towards this sub. Eclipse 10" SW8102, as far as i know it's about 450wrms and 900 max, it was released back in '02 and had a retail of about $699. It is an aluminum cone, i have tried to contact eclipse about this sub but they didnt' have anything like an old manual or anything. So what could you tell me about it, i have noticed from other posts that have put up and you like these in smaller sealed inclosures. thx |
IDMAX (I'm not sure if it's more expensive than a W6v2).

The SW8102 was last current in 2004. It was available in a dual 4 ohm or single 4 ohm coil. Double stacked magnets, cast aluminum basket, spun aluminum cone on a aluminum former. RMS on it should have been 500 watts. It works ideally in a small sealed box, no larger than 1.25 cubic feet.

OZ Matrix Elite (think IDMax with a lower price tag)
