Does anyone got the year, and can prove it?

Car Subwoofer?
Not sure about the woofers. But the first enclosure in a vehicle for the purpose of selling to a retail market was 1984. |
Before anyone here was born, even dukk

I made the first subwoofer. I can send you a cave scratching of it if you would like |
I believe the first serious car audio system that was well known and regarded for having good sound was Audiomobiles 1kw VW. It was built around 1980, used 15" subs and had 1000 watts of power. It used home-audio speakers though so I don't really know if that applies. After that, the next person to really start make waves in the car audio scene was Wayne Harris with Eruption, his 1980 Buick Regal in 1984.

I was talking about subwoofers in general, not car audio, since we all know the dukk predated the horseless carriage.
:D |
This is going to come in around the early 1980s I think... Around when Stillwater Designs started up or Rockford began making speakers too and not just amps...
