where to buy equipments?

hi there first of all i live in london ontario... my first system is basically bought at bestbuy which includes a RF p3d212 sub and a sony xm-d9000gtr ...
and a custom made box tuned around 33 hz ..

im thinking of upgrading the amps to either a hifonics bxi1600d or a crunch ground pounder amp...

i cant find any local distributor here in london and the amps at that level cost more than 800 dollars at bestbuy and futureshop...

has anybody tried buying stuff at ebay.ca? how much are you going to pay for tariff and duties? like if i buy a 300 dollar worth of amp?

i've bought of ebay lots it usualy saves me money um the extra fee's i think is based on how much it weighs and so ya but for my like 35 pound x type it was only like 45$ and that was pretty heavy so it isnt rank expensive

300$ - fees and tax will be roughly $50-$60.

EDIT: that is with UPS...

ebay is great for people like me that know what they're doing, and have been around for a long time in car audio. If you don't know a lot, or you are new to ebay, it can be dangerous and costly. Here's a quick list of things to do;
1. contact the seller and find out how much to ship to your location via USPS(united states postal service) if available..it's much cheaper than ups,fedex etc...but will take longer. Also, look at there rating and number of transactions as well as how long they have been in buisiness.
2. figure out the exchange rate...right now it's great for buying in the states...calculate all your expenses and convert to canadian dollars.
3. If they can ship by USPS, then canada post will charge you 5.00 for brokerage fees(very cheap), and you can assume that you will have to pay GST, and possible PST on the declared value of the goods.
4.calculate all your expenses now...consider you have no warranty, and that you are taking a risk, as the vendor could close shop tomorrow.
5. Pay via Paypal, as they offer some protection against fraud etc...

There is a lot to know about online shopping, it can be good or bad. I'm very experienced at this stuff, so for me it's relatively risk free, but for most people it's not worth it!!
