So I'm building my tweeter pods today and I'm looking at the tweeters and I notice on the red wire it has a bunch of dashed lines(looks like - - - - ). To me it seems as though it is indicating that it is the 'negative' wire. Previously I had them hooked up as if the black wire was the negative, and red positive. Everything sounded fine

Which one do you think is the 'negative' wire? Red with the dashed lines, or the good old black wire?
Using a 9v battery, black = negative, red = positive, the speaker goes outwards.

I'd figure the red with dashes would be the positive.

Also, don't connect a 9v battery to a 1" tweeter. Your test confirms the polarity though, so you're good to go.

Yeah I found some info on google about it. It also said not to use a battery on a tweeter, but the MT22 is rated for 100WRMS. At 9v, its only 20W.
