I'm pretty sure I'm after a Sony CDX-F7715X or a CDX-M8815X.
I'm in Kamloops and don't think I can get them locally.
Any suggestions.. keep in mind I'm a cheap bastard.

I got the CDX-F7715X At for $300 plus taxes.

 

both units are available at Visions. Go see Logan.....tell him Joe from PG#12 sent ya and said to give ya a good deal.

 

$300 plus taxes is good unless I can buy it for $165USD plua shipping and taxes.
Got to wonder why I can purchase a single unit and import it and pay the tax on it cheaper than a store can. I guess you don't really have to wonder, but you do have to ask yourself if your interested in contributing to the local economy (supporting the middle man).

Actual price breakdown is
165USD online
35 USD shipping (via usps so no brokerage fee, but considerable wait time)
14% GST/PST Canada Post will collect this along with their $5CAD handling fee.
200USD = say $250CAD plus $5CAD + 14% = $290CAD.

From the store $300 plus 14% = $342CAD
So $52 difference.
That's considerable on a $300-$350 item.
I guess bricks and morter don't pay for themselves.
I do thank everybody for their input.
Helps me to make an educated decision.
No A&B Sound store in Kamloops unfortunately.
