Where should I mount my tweeters? 02 Civic

Hey folks,

I am having the installer put in a set of Focal Polyglass 165 V1 (6.5 components) into my 2002 1.7 EL (AKA a Civic Sedan). I am placing the woofer in the factory door location.

Question is... where do I put the tweeters?

The Installer thinks the A piller is where they should go and said Focal designed them to go there. Another Installer in the shop recommended in the door sill/panel far sade of the handle or in the Sail panels. And a third installer said the kick panels.

I am ruling out kick panel installation since when someone sits in the car, the tweeter ends up being blocked by their legs and/or bag (think Girlfriend).

Installing tomorrow - please let me know your thoughts and thanks folks.

some where in the door would be easier, but I would put them in the A pillar.

side rear view mirror location(sail panels) is good, not necessarily the best for SQ competition, but for real life daily use it's very good. If you have time correction available in your deck or in a processor, it can sound very good when set up right...at least for the driver, and decent for the other passengers.

LOL good call.

If it were my install, I would put the tweet as close to the midrange as possible, you have the TN45 and they're kinda harsh if they're mounted further away from the mid. Unless of course you have a decen't crossover and EQ, then, by all means mount them on the pillar to get that good stage height.

I mounted mine TN52 in the a-pillar and they sound great, but every car sounds and preforms differently.Try the double sided tape thing and check some different positions!

You should mount them about 12-18 inches from the woofer.. and make sure to deaf-enatley point them at your ears (j/k)

I always put tweeters in those cars 1/2" to 1" in front of the door handle keeps it within a decent distance of the woofer and theres plenty of room between the dash door handle and the behind the skin. and it's hard plastic so a hole saw doesn't tear up ur apolstreee.

That or u can glue them to the window so there closer 2 ur ears... jk
