Where to start with my new vehicle?

Ok, first off I haven't been on in a long time. Kinda got sidetrack with my newfound desire for gaming, snowboard, and of course, work and school. My passion has been reignited due to my new car: a 96' vw golf. Cheap, good on gas, and roomy for a small car. Now I got the stereo itch. Heres a list of what I have left for equipment:

Rockford T10001bd
2x Kicker 15L5's
A pair of PG Xenon 5.25
PG Xenon 200.2

However, there are several problems/concerns. Obviously I will need to get a new deck. I was thinking of the pioneer deh-p880prs I think the model is. Any good, or are there others I should look at?

Also, would I be better off upgrading my electrical system or redoing my amps? I was thinking of doing a nice set of 6.5's up front and a nice single 15 ported in the back. Also, which box design in a hatchback works best for music, to sound good and hit fairly hard?

I got a million other questions swirling around, but I think this is enough for now. My big concern is my electrical system vs. current amps situation. I'm leaning towards upgrading since I love both amps, but other opinions would be cool. Also, where is the best place to get a h/o alt for a golf?

engine size, amp sizes? a nice box for a 15 is a fairly big ported one tuned to somthing low. i would say somthing between 30hz and 36hz. someone will prolly say later if i am right or wrong.

a bigger alt is a plus but you may not need it depending on the car.
on a vw your looking at like a 70-80 amp alternator when its warm. yeah upgrading is going to be a good idea.

Ya, I think I'm gonna go with the upgrading my electrical system instead of redoing my amps. I love both of them, so why get rid of em, especially my rockford. Where is the best place to order a h/o alt? Also, i know that a bigger ported box will be the route to go, but should I do sub and port firing back, sub up/port back, sub and port up?

While you can indeed put a ported single 15" in there, I would try it sealed first or sell that thing and go to something smaller. Why, think of all the weight that you are adding to that small car and the rather weak suspension. Reconsider your goals for low end, good sound to a respectable level, good sound, loud, just bass for example. A single 10" ported or 12" sealed / ported has worked great for me over the years in these cars. Not too much weight and a lot of output potential.

Front speakers, 6.5" component speakers should fit with a little work, Morel, Eclipse and Focal come to mind for a great speaker, a little on the lower $ side would be JBL, Macrom and others. Totally depends on your budget here.
