^ I hear ya.. it takes dedication... I do frequent some shops often enough... I generally find deals on tools 10x as often as stereo gear, though..
maybe I just dont have the right shops around me...

Cash Canada pawnshop, there are two in Calgary that I know of. Like theres one right off of 17th Ave SE, in forest lawn, right beside the A&W close to deerfoot. I rarely go there. They used to have LOTS of good stuff, now its just like Bleh, yuck. The Calgary Police auction is a great place to go. Seriously, like $50 for a $2500 amp, DAMN, thats nutty deals. There was just one on Tuesday. its every second Tuesday. go to http://www.thisway.ca Its called "Rieds auction services"
I bought my ZR240 for $80 there. DAMN GOOD AMP, 550 watts RMS baby, not a bad score for $80!!
There are some places that are stupidly expensive. Cash converters is Mediocre. They usually know what they have, so deals are hard to come by there, but you occasionally find some great stuff. You just have to know where to look, and whats a good deal.
Clayton is the king of good deals, he has WAY more patience then I do. I very seldomly do it. He knows every good place to look. I only know of a few. But Cash Canada Pawn on 17th SE is good, for sure.
Clayton, I wont burst the bubble about the Concept amp, lucky bastard!!! THAT is a smokin' deal. Man your lucky.

I remember back in the day I got a few good deals at paw shops.
I always looked for good deals and never lost a cent. ussually made 50%+ profit from anything i sold afterwards.
I remember a few years ago i saw a PPI art series 600a amp that a shop said they would have sold to me for 10w1 jl on trade in and 80 bucks. Now what a deal.
