Who can give me an answer?

Okay, who has experience with any Clarion amps? Do they put out their full rms power? I have a DPX1800 (800rms at 1ohm) and have had it for a while... Seems pretty powerful to me, but I'm not sure whether or not it'd be 800wrms? Doesn't come with a birth sheet or anything so wtf eh.

are you running it at 1 or 2 ohms to get the full 800, if at 4 ohms its only 450

Brad-S.A. 02-13-2007 11:35 PM

Yes they do put out the 800wrms at 1 or 2 ohms.

I know one person who is running that same amp, seems to put out around 800w RMS.

Does anyone know if you can get these amps tested to see how much they push out at RMS? Some kind of meter. I wanna see how much my friend Sony amp pushes out, I am sure it doesn't push out its supposed "RMS" rating.

I'm running it at 1 ohm of course. :D

I just wanted to make sure that it is infact putting out the power it says it will.

Brad-S.A. 02-18-2007 06:02 PM

Well the Clarion's are also CEA2006 rated if that helps

T-Roy31 02-18-2007 06:06 PM

Yeah, that's true... Just thought I'd get a couple more opinions I guess. lol

Thanks.

But, one thing I don't get STILL is how can it be 800rms at 1 OR 2 ohms????

I dont know anythign about clarion's, but the JL mono amps are the same wattage at any resistance level as well.

Oh really? This was the first time I had seen this (I don't look at any JL stuff) so it sounded funny to me...

Good to know, thanks.
