Just out of curiousity, who else here basically dropped everythng and took a chance on something they dreamed about?

I know the guys at Perfect Tones did by opening a shop and so did Orion_95 picking up and moving to be an installer out west.

I know I have done this twice now. First with GCA and now with the X-terminator deadening. This last one has really taken all my wifes and I's energy and life savings. Defenently the hardest and most stressfull thing I have ever done. But now I am finally seeing some light, an boy do I ever feel proud of what I have put together.

So lets hear it, who else took a chance?

Took a chance with the whole Synopsis thing a while ago and got burnt pretty bad, along with a few other people. I have a few idea's I'd like to try, but after the first ordeal I doubt I'll go through with any of them. Who knows....

sorry to burst your bubble jon, but i didnt take any chances...i have family in both ontario, and bc, so i grew up in both places...i got a job at burlington radioactive installing, and ended up that i decided to move back west to run the service/installation department at one of the indy AVU stores. Both GREAT places to work at, and i would recommend both to anyone, without hesitation. Radioactive to the east, AVU to the west.

I've taken a few chances in my life. Some of them I regret, and some I am undecided about.

I guess this isn't really about chances, but in actual fact, decisions.

I am currently regretting a decision I made earlier this year. It has caused me all sorts of mental stress and financial difficulty.

That being said, we can only make decisions based on the information we have at that instant in time, then make the best of the new situation.

That being said, I applaud people for being adventurous, enthusiastic and optimistic. Nothing would ever happen if we all just sat around and did nothing.

Risk = Reward

I had the opportunity to meet Warren Buffet this past week (he recently purchased the company for which I work) and his mere presence reminded me of many things. He is the most down to Earth, intelligent and fascinating man I have ever met. He started with nothing and has become the second richest man in the World.
Typically, being an employee will never make you rich (if that is a goal that you aspire to). The risk takers (ie. entrepreneurs) are the ones that profit and make serious money. Most people don't have the talent, dedication, guts or know-how to run their own businesses. If Hard work, honesty and integrity are traits that you possess, go ahead, take the risk and shoot for the stars.

i havent had the opportunity to take chances as far as business ventures,

but i know for sure that having the right support is absolutely necessary.

be it from family, friends or significant other.

you have to have persoanl harmony before you underake a risky venture i think. it makes eveyrthing easier, even failure.
