What do I do ? - I own a car audio shop in a town with a population of 18,000 people.

What involvement do I have with car audio ? - You name it, install, sell, run shows, work for IASCA, build demo and competition vehicles, write car audio articles for a magazine, promote, etc, etc, etc... I'm nuts about car audio !

How long have I been doing it ? - Well, I installed my first car audio system when I was 13 years old in my dad's truck; an OCEAN 8 track player and Kraco speakers in the doors... that was 30 YEARS AGO !!!! (damn I'm old). Professionally since 1978.

Do I compete ? - Yes, with IASCA/IdBL in the Ultimate class since 2001. I've actually been competing since 1994 but at first it was at fun events because there wasn't really any sanctioning organizations in the area. I guess I'm making up for that now !

LOL - Dereck's wasted

1) I am the False God of Audio - don't you read? When that isn't keeping me busy I am an Application Engineer for a technical sales office. On Saturdays I stuff decks for FS for fun and I do custom work in what little spare time I have left.
2) Main hobby at this point, plus the above.
3) 17 years. Professionally for 13 years.
4) Competed IASCA in 1990 1991. After that I built and helped campaign SUX2BU's cars and hosted shows but did not compete. New car now = return to whatever SQ comps are left this year hopefully
