i was talking to Pg about getting the first three for our cars. 2 for the civic and one for rob vo, just kidding rob. one for the shadow. but they are quite the specimen. we got the room for it and the power to back it up. draws 1100 amps of current. possible 10 000 watts at 14.4 v and we just happen to have a large bank with lots of free power. this amp will be in circulation soon. some dudes are already wanting one. me included. there allot of people that would buy one of these. me i'll take three.

That is quite the beast, but it is a discrete four-channel unit from what I understand. It's basically four amplifier output stages in one chassis with a single input stage.
Still very cool and would do quite the number on a single Quad woofer.

And 10000 max? Meaning about 5000 rms? Yikes...
So if I took 2 d3's out of the heatsinks and put them in a huge *** case could I sell it for a ridiculous price as well?
it doesnt have to be available to public to be a marketing hype. that is exacly why its called 'hype' b/c it only hypes up the interest in the company. if it was easily accessable by public then it wouldnt be so 'hype'.
i dont know how good the amp realy is or anything but it sure gets everyone talking about the company and gets their name mentioned everywhere without the actuall sale of a single unit of that specific amp......and THAT is marketing hype. Marketing 101
look at this thread for example, its nearly 20 replies long yet non of us will ever buy that amp, we are talking about the company itself. the point of that amp is not likely to be sold to public but rather to generate some more publicity and industry buz for phoenix gold. and that is what marketing hype is, once again.

From what I have recall from the press releases, the amp was designed in confunction with Carver.
Since when is RMS power half of Max power? Its actually 0.707 (or one over the square root of 2).
