hey people!i just got my head unit and im going to be wiring it soon=) just a few things. What do these things mean on my wiring harness for my aftermarket head unit

1.power control/motor antenna control wire
2.ignition wire
3.battery wire
4.ground wire
5.antenna trigger
6.dimmer
7.llumination
8.antenna trigger

1.5.8 is useless if u dont have a powered antena

2 is ur turn on and off with car.
3. is constant power to keep ur time. and eq saved
4. is obviously ground witch u need

6. if ur car is equiped with a dimmer wire on the harness ( orange ) put it on its better than having an overly bright deck in the night
7 well its illumination..

just connect all the wires on the deck to the matching colors on the car harness that u hopefully bought

 

Yeah it should say in the manual that is included with your deck. And sometimes it says on top of the deck .

 

ok thanks guys! i will buy a wiring harness before installing the deck!(anyone know of a place that sells car harnesses in Mississauga Ontario?)

 

Canadian Tire or Walmart will have them cheapest if you can find the model for your car, otherwise try board vendor Selective Sound

wal mart. canadiant tire. audiotronics. car audio shops. best buy future shop... make ur pic.. if its a GM over 2001 expect a harness of over 120$

 

i have a 1993 toyota camry and a kenwood KDC-MP142/CR

thats good.. its about 15 to 20$
