wiring 3 subs
How do you wire up 3 dual-4 ohm woofers to one amp? Will it not work properly? Is it best to get 3 seperate amps? Also today I was listening to one of the 3 woofers in a sealed box (eclipse sw8200), it was getting +/- 375W and the sub is supposed to handle 670W. There was a lot of excursion, and it just didn't look to me like it could take much more than 375W. After the surround started to peak it would make a noise I didn't like. It pounded the lows, though.

You go buy another one and wire it to half ohm like I did.

Option 1 (series/parallel) = 2.67 ohm load
Option 2 (parallel/series) = 6 ohm load i like #1 and get an amp with some power (i would ) |
Find yourself a really darn good amp and hope for the best or add another identical sub to stabilize the load. Was the box that the SW8200 (which are all svc 4 ohm), the proper box?

The box was a sealed 1.1 cuft chamber. I didn't think the sub was that efficient.

It is not terribly efficient. It needs a crapload of power behind it to bring it to life.
