Wiring/Power Question

Hey guys, having a brain fart... :ohwell: .

I'm looking at 4 12" Kicker L7's, and a Brutus 1600w amp...

Apparently, 4 Dual 2 ohm subs wires to 1 ohm, but I can't figure out how much power I need. The subs are 750w RMS, and the amp is 1600w @ 1 ohm RMS...

Also, the wiring diagrams online dont label the sub coil numbers, so how do I know which coils to wire where?

RMS Power (4 ohms) : 550 watts x 1 chan.
RMS Power (2 ohms) : 1100 watts x 1 chan.
RMS Power (1 ohm) : 1600 watts x 1 chan

No, I know how much power the amp spits out, but thats not what I'm asking.

I want to know how much power those subs will need? Like 2 L7's in parallel needs 1500w RMS @ 2 ohms, but 2 and 4 wire differently, so do I need 1500w or 3000w or what...

you dont need 3000 watts, but they should be able to take it. just add up the rms of all 4, wiring shouldnt mean a thing, other then what your amp sees, the subs still work the same and need/take what they want

this link should help you with your wiring....

Well 750 x 4 = 3000w...

Looks like I need a bigger amp...

yea dude, Git R Done. get 3 more of what you have already, that should be educational...lol

on another note, i geuss uve stepped away from the almighty fusion eh? oh weel, ull still have to hear these nv's one day.

A used orion 2500 can be had for around 500 used. Not too bad, get the dual 2 ohm versions and wire it down to one ohm. Should wail. If you got the room, do a big ported box, with that much power and 4 12's it'll wail.

Yea a 2500d was what I wanted. My friend is running one for his 2 15" L7's and they pound. 2500w out of 3000w should be fine, especially in a ported box... And yea my plan was to make 4 individual ported boxes and just glue em all together once I get all four.

What vehicle is this going in? I'm assuming a suv. Building a wall would be awesome, but if you still wanna keep it a sane daily driver I would go for one big box, brace the hell outta it, something like 10 cubes @ whatever frequency you want (Something stupid low like 27-30 would be cool, 35 would be a sweet ground pounder) with like 160 inches of port, subs up, port back.
