Wiring speakers to deck
How would I wire all my speakers to my deck?
Right now they are running off of an amp, but I want to use the amp for the subs. Will I have to run wire all the way from the trunk to the dash for the rear speakers?
The front speakers go to the factory harness, then they are connected to wires that run back to the amp. I unplugged those, then put them to the wires that come out of the deck harness, yet my front speakers dont work

Hey joebob
If everything is in working order, running speakers at high input level (speaker level) is just a matter of following the factory wire colour scheme. The front and rear, both left and right are colour coded. I'm sure you know this. When running at speaker level, you simply connect the coordinating wires at the harness (these go to the factory speaker connections which are already in place). If you're using an amp or two, the same factory wires (at the harness) now go to the amp (if it has high level inputs), then you run wire from the amp(s) to the speakers.
I'm not sure what the problem is with your front speakers. Try connecting the harness wires back to the factory speaker wires (and ensuring the speakers are connected properly). To run subs at high level, you have to splice into the rear speaker wires (l and r) near the harness and run this sub wire to the sub amp (if it has high level inputs). Then the rest I'm sure you know. But note: in this setup, the rear channel, which used to be just your rear speakers, is now both your rear speakers and your sub(s), so your fader control is now affected. No biggie, usually. I ran this setup before and it sounded fine. I Hope this helps...
