Wondering about sub positioning...

I have a DD3512 in a f250 extended cab just in a box build to dd specs sitting on the back seat firing up for now til I can get it nicely installed. I was wondering is there any way to get the bass more to the front seat (drivers seat) right now the loudest point is of course at around the steering wheel lvl. What does down firing a sub acomplish? Now I only have half power going to this right now, maybe it will be more then loud enough when I throw the full 1200 rms at it. I'm actually surprised it has good response time considering the size of the surround, pretty impressive sub.

downfiring subs are very hard to accomplish, cause sometimes they work, and sometimes they dont. usually people like to use downfiring systems that are a center console all the way tru the car. i'll try and find an example for you.

well this would be a center rear console going up on the seat as well.

At 600 watts, that sub is starving. I like to see them get about 2000 watts to really wake it up. Everything will change for you with lots of juice!
