Ok, so this is my 1000th post. Which is pretty odd considering I'm usually a hardcore lurker.

To give you an idea; I've been a member of vwvortex for 1898 days, over 5 years, and have just over 600 posts.

SO! .. with that said. Here's what I want from you guys to help me celebrate the 1k mark.

What do you consider to be the most impressive piece of equipment you have seen and why?

For me it has to be the PG Cyclone. I remember seeing ads for it back when it first came out and I was totally amazed.

Fortunately I had a chance to pick one up a few months ago (thanks Jackal!) and had to grab it even though I really couldn't afford it at the time and I won't be able to install it until next summer at the earliest.

I could also say this BIGASS amp that I saw at the SlamJam eastern finals a few years ago. Probably 98ish?

It was made by PG, light blue, and was about the size of a coffee table. It was up on it's side and basically made a wall in the back of an SUV.

Does anyone else remember that amp?

The Adire Pathoniane (sp?) motor.

Seeing this prompted me to check my post count. 1379 so far. Yikes, I think I need to start lurking more.

Is 1452 posts in just over 1 1/2 years bad?

I might have to start lurking too..

I've never had the chance to hear/feel one of thoses cyclons but I sure would like to.

X

You're not a true lurker
True lurkers are the guys who are under member #500 and are still a Mackenzie or Hoser

I never said I was a lurker here.

So c'mon folks. Impress me with some stuff you've seen ;)

I'm going to go with something old school. Simply because at the time, it impressed me a lot. Now it's not such a big deal, but I'm sure a few of you can relate.

The first Alpine outboard D/A converter, from about '92 I think. Don't know the name of it, but it was my first big WOW peice of gear.

I guess this is in reference to other boards then?
As for impressive equipment, I don't get out much.

</font>
Yup.. that's in reference to other boards.

I think if you were to add up all my posts on other boards I MIGHT have just over 1k.

There's just something about this place ;)

I'm not even listing my post count..

The most impressive piece of equipment I have seen I happen to own: my Coustic AMP-560. 39" long, 250x4RMS, 240amp current draw and from 1991 no less :D

Runner up: MTX 9500 12". That thing is just retarded
