Hi guys... still deciding what i want to do for next season [img]graemlins/dunno.gif[/img]

so, heres my question.

in the car (1990 civic hatchback), i have 600watts from a alpine MRD-M605.

now, I dim when its very loud, so i was curious if i wanted to get another MRD-M605 and another 12" type R, should i get a bigger altornator? or just a beefy battery + big 3 upgrade?

If a new altornator is in store, how many amps should i look at, and where could i find one?

well, the stock one is 75a i think?

im not 100% sure.

and truthfully, as cheap as i could be would be better since i have school to save for.

so if it means a bigger alternator (sp? lol), then i guess ill be holdin out on the upgrade haha.

 

Unless you intend to drive around with the stereo pinned all day, I really would not worry about it.

 

big 3 will help a whole lot

id do big 3 then see how much voltage drop you still have. i think you'd be ok with a big battery under the hood

 

well, in 2 weeks i go for my N, and ill be driving to surrey, vancouver etc a few times a week with it quite loud..

i think ill do a big 3 and a red top under the hood.

or is there any better batteries that you guys recommend? nothing over 300$..

 

I drive from Abby to Delta everyday, I run 1200 rated watts, listen to it anywhere from regular radio level to pretty loud, and have zero problems with dimming and such.

The alternator in my SX is stock but I did upgrade to a higher capacity Eliminator battery and added a 0ga ground to the frame.
