Would this sound faulty? / Custom Modification

Hello Again !

You might recognize my user name from my previous post, but just have another quick question. I went with the two 12" Alpine Type R's and now there in the trunk of my Honda Del Sol.

Now.. i was cruising through google, and found a really old thread post of someone doing this to his del sol, i wanted someones opinion on how this would sound.

So the del sol has no room for a sub box inside, so what this guy did was buy two speaker ports off ebay,

Then he cut a hole from the corner of the trunk

Going to the corner of the cabin (Under the rear car speaker)

And now looks like this !

Now, the Honda Del Sol forums are completely dead, and almost no-one drives a honda del sol now, at least thats how it feels with the lack of support from forums. But i'm just curious, how would you guys think this would sound? would it effect how much bass you would hear from the trunk at all? and would it alter the sound anyhow? He claims that it sounded alot better, but no one responded to him, and i didn't want to bump a three year old thread.

Any help is appreciated !
Much Thanks !

::EDIT::
For those who aren't familiar with a Honda Del Sol, it's a small coupe from Honda in the 90's, they stopped making them in 97 i believe.

Pull the rear speakers out and build a great front stage. No cutting required. The hole where the rear speakers were should leave you lots of room to let some bass escape into the cabin area. In previous cars I have pulled the rear speakers and then built my box so that the ports fire through the rear deck of the car into the cabin, right through where the rears would have been.

@Sinemeup - So your saying to just take the rear speakers out, and leave it as it is then? Kinda confused sorry :P
