If you are wondering why all the hostility, very simple........just sick and tired of people with little knowledge do nothing but bring down what I have spent a lifetime trying to bring to the next level.
If you are not part of the solution......you are the problem.

Exactly... several times a bad day one of "THEM" will come to Mark, myself or another manager all red faced and say "we have a problem" and then I will say "it is easy to come up with problems, professionals provide solutions..." usually the response we get is a temper tantrum or "leak of air from their mouths".

How do I install a sat radio?
Clean paint where I intend to mount antenna.
Magnetic mount the antenna either at the back of the roof on hatch equipped cars/SUVs or at the front center of the roof above the rearview mirror.
On front mounted units, tuck antenna wire through windshield trim and down a-pillar and then back along fender gap.
Loosen rubber door/hatch weatherstripping and fish wire underneath. Replace weatherstripping.
Fish antenna wire underneath interior trim panels along the roofline in rear antenna installs, kickpanel and dash in front and up to wherever the main unit is getting placed.
Wire a lighter socket into accessory and ground - either at the steering column or at the factory radio. I like to add the socket rather than cut off the lighter plug on 12v units, so the fuse is retained. Fish the plug to where the man unit is getting placed.
Extra wire is bundled, tie strapped, and then tie strapped out of the way.
That's about it. Sorry, no paint protectors.
Is that ok for you Claudio? Will it suffice for a 'one day a week' guy?

be careful with the new Sirius 5volt units. you must retain the adapter plug and solder to it's main board or make the necessary changes if you want to eliminate the plug.

So what happens when the car starts to rust where the Ant is mounted from all the road grime getting stuck under the ant?!?!
Look Paul, this is not really a dig at you per say, BUT i am getting sick of hearing the same old BS....Think about it for a second, someone start ragging your install because the customer complains that the ant fell off while washing the car and they FREAK when they see the rust. Now the shop that fixes the car takes pics and posts them on every single Car Audio Site around with your name on it. How would you feel??? It is what Mike said everyone pionts out the problem (like the ant in the car) but no one every come up with a solution (like paint protect). the few sat rads we did was just as what you did, then we saw one come back for other work and saw the damage from the road grime........BOOM, Paint protector.
I thought the whole idea of sites like this was so "we" could show ideas and learn from each other, but like I said....way easier to poke fun at people huh?

I use the 3M stuff that I buy from a Auto Body supplier
We need to get this thread back on track so does anyone else use them or have seen the grime build up that we came across?
