X-over on Mono amp
Hi
I completed my install yesterday and i have a question. On my momo amp, i set the x-over to the highest setting because i want to use the HU x-over and my amp does not have a "flat" option. When i adjust the x-over on my HU, the higher i put the frequency, the deeper and louder the bass becomes. For example i had initially set it to 30Hz and i found it was ok but things were not really shaking. After playing around with it, i set it to 120 Hz and BOOM, more bass, louder bass, deeper bass. Does this sound right? I always thought that it was the opposite for some reason...seeing that i am new to all this i was probably wrong. J |
I figured this would have been a very easy answer for those with experience. Was my question unclear maybe?

What you are adjusting is the low pass filter. Set at 30hz it is only letting 30hz and lower get to the subs. This should be set around 80-100hz ideally.

thanks for the reply. after tinkering with it for a bit i figured that was the case. I do have another question though, the specs for my sub say 30Hz-400Hz, so if a frequency lower than 30 is passed, will it damage the subwoffer or will it just not be reproduced?
Thanks J |
