I can't comment on XM,however,I do have Sirius.I listen to Howard Stern religiously and feel that alone makes it the better choice.I would check out both XM's and Sirius's programming and see which better suits your taste. As far as Sirius goes,I've had it for almost a year now and its been completely trouble free with excellent reception, even in the worst weather.I also feel that they're programming covers a large spectrum of music, talk, comedy and tons of sports. If you're a big sports nut,Sirius has you covered. They're also adding new channels periodically.

musically both are pretty much the same push come to shove, unless your particular about anything musically. Content is where they differ the most, XM you get NHL, MLB where Sirius gets NBA and NFL, Sirius has Howard Stern but XM has Opie & Anthony.

I myself have XM, but about 50% of my listening is to Opie & Anthony on XM 202,who I much prefer over Stern, Im a fat of potty humor and dick & fart jokes. The rest of the time im on BMP or The System the techno stations. Like I said musically they are more or less the same they both tested 50/50 for music content with test audiences.

Pros
XM Radio = better quality music, great if you live in non mountainous areas.
Sirius Radio = better reception in sketchy areas.

Cons
XM - if you live in a mountainous area like the kootenays, XM sucks, cuts in and out.
Sirius - quality is not as good as XM, if you were to compare the 2 in mp3 terms, it would be like an mp3 of 128kbps quality vs 256kbps.

As far as programming, both are pretty close in total channels available.

my 2 cents

Don't know what I'd do without my XM. Don't listen to the radio any more, just XM or my iPod. If I want some good SQ tho then it's CD's only.

I hear XM has a larger music library so you might have a little more diverse sounds on it. Plus I like the hockey, Serious won't have it after this coming season.

No more hockey on my Sirius??? CRAAAAP

Anyway - If you are hoping for good SQ then I don't recommend satelite at all. I use the Sirius for talk radio only and for that I love it.
