Xover Decision....

I posted this on the ROE forum, decided to do it here too for more feedback. I recently decided on my speakers and now I'm trying to get a processor to run it all. i want something that I can set once, and i don't have to keep going back and forth resetting it. here's the setup so please help me choose the processor best for me:
Midbass/Mid (120 Hz - 800Hz): B&C 8 NDL51
Mids (850 hz - 2.5Khz): Audax PR170M0
Tweets(3Khz -)Upwards: Beyma AST-22
Sub: Tc 5200
H/U: Premier 780

1 of each per door. The tweets and the the sub will have individual amps, however i will use a 4 channel for the mids. I jus want something allowing me to dedicate certain frequencies going to the individual amps, and have everything xovered properly.

Here's what i looked at so far:
1/AudioControl EQX
http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...duct_ID=12 65

2/AudioControl DQX
http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...duct_ID=12 58

If there are other processors that will fit the job please feel free to say....Oh yea forget about the DQXS, a bit too much for me in terms of settings and not what i'm looking for. I'm into SQL, and i listen to basically Dancehall, hip hop, and soca. So please feel free to add and all advice is welcomed...Thanx....

I looked at AC pieces and the prices, you sure are ready to drop some coin. In this case how about Alpine 701 combo?
Only thing that it will work best with a unit that has a digital-out.

Well your deck has unboard xovers, so you may be able to xover everything using that and your amps xovers assuming they have some.

-Use deck to high pass tweets Lets say @ 4000hz
-Use deck to low pass midrange @ 4000hz and amps to high pass @ 350hz
-Then us amp to low pass midbase at 350hz
-us sub amp low pass for subs.

This is assuming your decks xovers can cover the mentioned frequencies. That could work and would be free.

*When setting amp xovers, you will have to eye ball it since they aren't really precise, but you can still get good results.

Yea i was thinking of jus runnin straight off the deck, not using an external Xover, i jus didnt know if it would allow me to tune my bass to the frequency that i want it....I havnt hooked up the deck as yet, hence my cluelessness. I guess using the amp's Xover too would help me out. I checked out the Alpine 701, my friend has one for sale acutally, lots of frequencies to play wit:eek: , but i got no digital outputs, and I already have the 780....

if you ever "accidently" bypass the deck crossovers while the sytem is playing, say goodbye to your tweets...lol

I think most decks have tweeter protection, ie minimum slope of 6db. At least both of my Alpines did.

the situation i was recalling...was with an alpine 9853....poof!

if the 780 is like my 880, I don't think you can "accidentally" bypass the deck crossover...(or at least that i have found)

df.dima 04-18-2007 08:16 PM

Funny, I used to have 9853.. :)
Maybe my memory is off. Was some time ago.

From the manual, pg18:

FLAT can be set for the HIGH slope only when USER'S
is selected in “Setting the Response Slope for the High
Range Speaker (TW SETUP)” (page 29).

:p
It's off by default.

Not trying to be an ass, just thought I'd figure this out.

Anyway, this is a moot point here.
