Thanks to 90blacknight here on CCA, the long lost PPI ProMos 25 has come home! Hooked up right now to components, unsure of way with components of being able to force more power from the amp. 4 ohm each channel as stereo, so amp is no where near its potential.

PPI ProMos 425 powering the subs, run in parallel - bridged. Leaves me with two channels to add more speakers.

Kenwood Excelon KDC-X493 head unit. Morel Tempo 6X front components.

Nagamitsu 02-28-2010 07:30 PM

Well, the deck not being vintage..... I wanted to take advantage of sound quality and features in a new deck. :)

As for the USB key, well, it's not typical flat stick, but it was a good deal for $20.00 for 8Gb stick! :smokin:

You need to get yourself a bridge and clean up the wiring. IMO sure old school ppi is good, but your install looks slapped together without any real effort put into it.

Weman 03-01-2010 05:59 AM

Looks sick bro ithose amps would look mint with my setup! They remind me of LRG clothing line. Sexy! Should deff do a custom install tho. Would look 100 % better.

You should swap your amps around - run the subs off of the 2channel bridged mono and then double bridge the 425 to 2ch for the comps. Same power to the subs but 4x as much to the comps

LoL! Thanks! Hmm, yes, the 2 channel amp can and will run the subs bridged mono the same as it is currently hooked up to the 4 channel.

So with the components to the 4 channel amp, bridge them left and right obviously? I'd have to run extra RCA to activate the 2nd channel on the 4 channel amp?

The comps on the 2 channel right now are fairly loud, but obviously under powered. It would make sense to switch them to the 4 channel amp as such. I could always try and see how it sounds.

lol! Yep, all the way out to a theoretical 0.04%!!

Get a couple of RCA Y-cables. Channel 1&2 both get left and bridge for mono left and Channel 3&4 both get right and bridge for mono right. I run my midbass with a 4channel this way

Got it, so basically splitting out the two existing RCA ends into 4 connectors, left side two go to left - channel 1&2 and the right two go to right - channel 3&4

I'll give it a try, since I can't quite see adding additional speakers anyways, so the extra channels in the 4 channel amp would have ended up unused.

Done! Components now bridged via the 4 channel amp, subs now on the 2 channel amp bridged.

Chose to take care of this first this weekend, Big 3 next!

Yes, possible new enclosure at some point, and I definitely need to get some decent 10" subs to replace these. :)

Those are good old school amps. They are clean sounding and so underrated.
