Hey guys what's up? I just finished the easiest install of a head unit that i have ever performed! A panasonic in a sunfire. It took absolutly no time. Share with us your easiest install!

97 Saturn SC1. Easiest I can think of. Push 2 tabs in, pull 2 clips out, unplug the rear defroster cable, and undo 2 bolts. That's it, i did it in under 5 minutes. I had the deck wires already connected to a wiring harness already so that saved time.

Easiest deck is Ford Tempo/Mercury Topaz. It takes me 15 minutes to:
1. drive the car into the bay
2. inspect vehicle for damage
3. Fill out work order
4. unpack deck from box and repack manuals packaging
5. black out cage
6. wire harness to aftermarket wiring plug
7. pull out factory deck
8. install aftermarket cage
9. plug harnesses together
10. slide deck in
11. set clock and radio stations
12. fill out rest of work order
13. pull car out of bay

My personal best for a whole system, deck, front speakers, amp and sub is into a Saturn, it took me 13 minutes 47 seconds at IASCA finals

Definitely my brother's 87 civic.

Pull out ashtray, take out one screw for the ashtray cover, then take out another screw that holds in the stock unit...slide in new unit. Reinstall ashtray ;)

At the installer challenge everything is apart already. But it's still fast. I think you'd be ahead more then the penalty if you break the rules about stripping wires at the bench, etc....

I think this might just be a thread so that people can find out which cars are an easy target to steal decks out of.

Mine was a pain in the ass, and I plan on making it more of a pain.

Nah, thieves just smash, crack, rip anything holding the deck in there and then cut all the wires after the harness.
They don't have to worry about loosing clips or taking out a bazillion screws (80's F-body's  ).

Acura EL is quite easy to install decks into. I installed my nakamichi in under 10 minutes once I had the harness all finished. I wound up doing some additional modification in order to secure the deck better a few days later, and address Chaxdon's concerns above ^^
