Head Unit:
Panasonic CQ-DF903
Pros: Wicked deck, nice 5v preouts, awesome display.Sounded pretty decent. Will not skip even at 148dbs at 42hz
(not that that was loud, just low)
Cons: Relatively weak eq section, but it still looks cool
Its in the process of being sold right now. i'm gonna try something new.(pioneer)

Using a Sony CDX-C910ES going to an XDP-210ES via toslink.
Pros:
-Not flashy, simple looking
-display is simple and very nice at night
-built in DAC's are very sweet
-10 preset buttons
-easy to use
-toslink output
-copper chassis
Cons:
-getting old = old technology
-tuner sucks
-impossible to see display in daylight
-gets quite warm (almost hot) with good use (long distance driving at volume 20-25) and that worries me because there's no internal amp
-no aux input
-face needs proper positioning to get on - not like panasonics/pioneers/jvcs that are easy
-did I mention the tuner sucks?
Although there seems to be more cons than pros, surprisingly I've stayed with this deck the longest of all my decks. It sounds the better than my previous Nak 45z and has more control. I also like the idea that I can run toslink through the car instead of RCA's. However, I've decided to spill some cash on the rockford/denon deck so I can run balanced to the trunk... sucks that I splurged (especially after I told myself I'd get out of car audio) because I've been kinda hit by the bug again. We'll see how things go from here.

Currently getting my Alpine 7878 modded for a Toslink out and turning off the internal amp to make it a pure tuner. This deck has the same transport as the F-#1 CDA-7990.
Then it'll be optical in to Alpine's PXA-H700 from the deck and the S624 changer(also has optical out).

Right now I am using a JVC KD S50. Pro's is it cost me next to nothing and actually plays CD's. Cons are it only ejects the CD about 1/16 of an inch then you have to pull it out yourself.

I'll have to agree with Slingshot on te 9255... amazing deck by any standards.
currently i have 2 decks:
1) Rio Car Empeg w/40 gig hard drive (don' tlisten to too much of today's commercial radio... rather have any one of my 5000 favorite sons within 5 clicks of a button.. Fack radio)
2) RFX8250 (sounddomain special). a replacement for my current clarion 9275 and geing back what teh 9255 used to give... pure SQ, no frills.
