Zed Audio

well I recieved and installed my two new Zed Audio amps over the weekend, and I thought I'd just give my overall impression for anyone looking for something new!!

My plans are to go with a three way front stage + subwoofer. However, I did not want to go past a two amplifier system.

This basically meant buying a 6 channel + sub amp.

After looking at the current 6 channel offerings on the market, the Zed Leviathan looked like the clear winner.

lots of power, really cool technology to increase real-world efficiency, and a decent price tag.

After hooking these amps up (one Kronos and one Leviathan), I can honestly say i am thoroughly impressed.

I am running the kronos at 8ohm, and it has no issues whatsover pushing my IDMax to the limit.

The Leviathan is equally impressive, lots of power on tap.

Both amps have a bevy of options, allowing for a 3 way system with no external processing on just the leviathan. Clipping indicators on every channel, high power/low power mode indicators and the list goes on.

both amps sound fantastic, and in the end thats all that really matters.
i find there is much more control at higher volumes than my previous amps.

all in all, these are great sounding, very efficient amps, with system flexibility that is second to none. (and they arent too shabby looking either)

the service from the designer/owner was amazing, and so far i'd recommend these amps to anyone looking!

Good, I had a Leviathan for about an hour... I purchase it used (was from the from the first batch) and looking at the board it had some burnt trace and some blown surface mount transistors. I callled the seller back ands took it back so i never had the chance to listen to it. Happy to see that they finally solve the glitches, the Leviathan is really a nice package.

Spend more time on the crossover then the EQ.

i carried over my previous crossovers for now until i listen for a bit.

sub/mid 63hz @12db

mid/tweeter 1.6khz @12db

from listening so far, the crossovers are decent i find, i need to work with the T/A though.
