4 subs impedance changing while at rest
I'm using 4 Arc Audio 15's in my home theater room wired for a 4 ohm load. Two subs per cabinet = 2ohm then series'd at the therminals.
Here's the issue - now pay close attention to the issue not the brand!. As I re-installed the drivers into the cabinets. I tested each coil and they all read 2.2ohms. Once wired, I checked the final load at the coils and the final reading is 2.1 ohm - with a series/parallel config. Moved the DMM to the output terminal and the same results = 2.1ohm. Secured both drivers back to the one cabinet and the DMM reading didn't change. Connected them into the behringer exp2000(pro_concert amp) and played them for 5 min at a low volume. Go back and recheck the terminal and now it reads 4.1 ohms - Yes the amp is not connected:smokin:. I let them sit for 1 hour and the same thing 4ohm. Im lost? |

is your freezers compressor on?. Not so much with the constant same reading on resistance. Buit I've seen resistances bounce around while measuring coils if there's anything loud in the area, as the movement turns the driver into a mic and creates voltage. Also, by any chance did 1 lead pop off a speaker?

You must have an intermittent connection somewhere down the line… |
this is exactly how both cabinets are wired:

That is not how I would wire your subs... each cab should be 8ohms with the two cabs in parallel for 4ohms....
And I'm no mathematician or anything, but if you are only getting a 4ohm reading then there is another 4ohms missing that should be in parallel with the load... any other clues ? Check your wiring 3x over... Could be bad tinsel lead on two subs if not the wiring.... |

I'll be trying this haunz - Much appreciated - i checked all the wiring and nothing seems to be shorting or touching. keep in mind, only one of the two boxes are connected. so the amp is connected directly one of the two boxes |
