to anyone who's wondering the actual outter diameter of the sub is just over 18 inches. the sub is not actually 17 inches.

and this is not an assumption

I *think* it's counted as a 17" as that's the size of the actual cone and that's what the manuf. has it listed as.

manufacturer say sits 17 inches, but the actual size is 18. u'd have to check with iasca rules on that. as far as i know iasca goes by the actual physical diameter of the sub. so this bu would be counted as an 18.

Just to clarify, i don't know if this is bleeding over from 'other' posts...but there IS a Digital Designs 9917, which is the yellow, Kevlar Cone with the 320oz double stacked magnet.

Then, there is the Digital Designs 99Z18, which has been kept under wraps for some time now, and apparently, is being made in a Kevlar/carbon fiber cone, which comes out a purple color. The 99Z18 contains a new motor structure designed to convert the electrical energy from your amps, into more usuable acoustical power. Make bang for the same buck (amplfier power)
