Any Rookies like me entering any comps?
I read almost over all the rules of :
http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/iasca/Iasca%20IDBL%20Rules%202010.pdf This thing and I might just compete (altho I think I will be blown away big time lol) But if my amp and sub are half decent then I am gonna build a new box for it and enter my bassworks sub with a good box. Maybe a bigger amp. I have barely any knowledge of competitions but always wanted too. I figure hell enter one see my scores if I do horrible at least I can say I tried right? How many rookies that are in my group enter these and what kind of scores do you get? |
I've got nothing until I'm done school and make $1500 for all this crap, then I'll enter the ones near Hamilton just to see what it can do:
2 2010 F.L. Fi SSD 18 D1 sealed wall behind the front seats/4.73cf3 each/tuned to 43Hz Sundown SAZ 1500D @ 1ohm 1 battery slightly bigger alt I was at a Hamilton event in 2007 and bought an APX12 for 1500W, went to switch it out for my SW8200 but I lost one of the coil wires (it was under the box) so I went home :(. Wish I knew what it did. |
should have asked someone at thye time if they had a wire you could have snagged off them.

i have been to a few local "shows" but hopefully this year i will beable to make a few "real: shows and should be doing decent numbers
|
What are you running?
|
lol
4 10" MCD's will release more info on them.. once i have them and the builder "releases" his company 2 audiopipe ap30001ds .....till i get the funds for 2 more 6th order BP type deal in a trunk of a 1995 grand am |
"Local Shows" ... what's that involve?
Are there meters? Or people just show up and blast sh!t in a local mall parking lot or something. I don't know, I went straight to these shows and skipped the whole "I'm in a car club" thing ... Probably working backwards, since I'll be part of THAT one day too. Just not right now with a 2001 Oldsmobile ... nah. |
^^^ Actually Mr. know-it-all :cheeky4: It was a DBDrag (nonsanctioned) event, put on by some club I believe. They used TermLAB, just had a REALLY crappy turn out. Even I didn't know about it until weeks afterward. :dunno:
SO, we hope to boost enough interest in Windsor to have a show this year, only with a MUCH BETTER turnout. ;) You will see... if you come... :sly: TO the OP: Sorry about that, lol. When I went last year for my first time, I did the same thing... read the rules, thought about going to a show, a CCA forum member (thanks Nick a.k.a. 420 guy) offered to meet up with me on the 401 so I wouldn't get lost, lol. So, I went to the show, everyone helped out, looked over my stuff, told me my class, where to go, what to do, it was great. Matt Romain even took the time to help me find my peak frequency before the show. He never met me before... I was hooked at the first show, even though I lost. It was good times. You just have to go. You won't regret it. If you try BassRace, you don't even have to be "loud". Hell, 129.9 bass race has the most competition. It's just a matter of getting as close to 129.9 without going over, playing music, over a 30 second span. It's REALLY fun. |
