Anything with a hachback, with lots of room for a box.

CRX, smart. What else Curtis? hmmm, what curtis buys

Saying "any hatch" is way too big of an answer considering he wants the BEST car.
In North America it's the Honda CRX. (2nd gen) In Europe (and best over all) is the Fiat Panda/Seat Marbella |

just stop arguing and get a VW Rabbit
or a VW Scirocco ..hmmm wonder how that would work as a street C things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmm |
kurtis....you're still krazy. even if you have the loudest cars, importing them from other countries is just insane...why don't you save some $$$ and pay off some bills or some debts...
(jk...nothing harmful meant) but yeah, a hatch is good. and, i must admit that the CRX has been known to be one of the loudest cars in north america. however, if you are TOTALLY against honda because it is your sworn enemy (ie ME) then i would reccommend something a little more classy, well build, and german, such as a VW 2-door golf, gti, rabbit, or sirocco - they have a lot of potential too!!! |
Coffeyman...my man...brother...long live the Vee-Dubs
Ive been using them for SPL Golf,Jettas,Sciroccos and a Rabbit...all with awsome results...all it takes is getting to know the cars and knowing what works in them |
CRX, not all hatchbacks = high numbers. Mine is a hatchback=ish (Nissan NX) and boxes that normally hit high in hatches don't do the same in mine...lol.

how about a Geo metro HB, or a Suzuki Swift hatch, or a Firefly. That 163DB "certified Radio" car that was at the Late August show in Calgary could have been any one of those just mentioned. Or of course, you could use a Festiva, like the one in the pic.
http://www.fordfestiva.com/gallery/s...estiva%204.jpg or even a festiva, like this one, yes that is a festiva, yes, that is a 32" woofer. check out this link for more info and pics. The car is for sale too http://www.fordfestiva.com/gallery/s.../steinleys.htm [ February 09, 2005, 07:58 PM: Message edited by: SPL donut...... formerly Graham ] |

All I know is, is DO NOT buy a 93-97 mx6. They have a big trunk, but the opening to that trunk is so small and useless. Its almost impossible to stuff anything in there bigger then a wee little 12" sub and box. my box faces upwards, since thats the only way it can fit. Besides, who makes 6x8s anyway? hardly anybody. Amazing car, I love mine to death, incredible car, but horrible for a sound system. leave alone an SPL system. If you were to build a wall however... (^_^) I cant wait for mine. Its gonna be just like that black "Certfied Radio" Sprint

Certified's car isn't that loud, it would get killed in competition. MX-6's are great for sound systems, lots of companies make good 6x8's but any real competition car would not use factory locations or mounts anyways.

Lanzar makes a great 6x8, as do a few other companies that I know of, which aren't too many sadly enough. I bought 6x9s for my mx6, thinking those were the right kind. I was really disapointed when they didn't, so I took them back and picked up some 5x7s. Those fit horribly, and could only mount two screws on each speaker. really being upset, I got a refund, and Called Future shop, they said my car needed 6" woofers. Okay, WTF.... I called Soundsaround here in Calgary, they said 6x9s. Still wrong, so I called up Econosound, and it needed 6x8 so they said. FINALLY. SO I bought some Dynaudio 5.25 woofers from http://www.madisound.com and a tweet, and handed them over to a person that built a 6x8 plate for me. Finally. Im done. SOunds great now. I wasn't really impressed with Earthquakes 6x8, Or (I think it was the Kicker one that I tried) That was okay, but I for the same price, I could get a custom Dynaudio one. So thats what I did. It cost $200 total for both pairs. I wish my car could take a 6" woofer, theres a lot more of a selection for that size. Why is the CRX the loudest car? Is it better braced from the factory?

6x8 speakers:
Rockford makes (2) models of 6x8 coax and (2) models of 6x8 seperates. Coax start at $139.99 MSRP and the top end seperates have a MSRP of $549.99. |
The CRX is the best NA car because of it's size and shape.
Not to mention the fact that it has no back seats so you're almost building a No-Wall type of car |
get a rex
