best route 8's 10's or 12.
 

I've been debating on what to run for some time now... I've always wanted something different today I thought how neat itd be to run one or 2 8's because no one ever is like yea im running 8's....

What im going for nothing earth shaking loud.... but something perty decent... with good all around bass.

what do you guys think about running 8's could i get enough air space in a ported box for 2 behind a regular cab seat.... or could i possibly do up one in a good box and it be loud....I'd really like any input as i only want to do this one time lol not trail and error... I just think the 8's would be neat....


I also looked at a pre fab box for my truck cant think of the brand right this second but its 200.00 alone for one ten and Im not sure how it'd sound in my truck.... let me know what you guys think....


Should i try this or just do two shallow mount 12's or tens in a sealed box...

The shallow mounts I would think will end up being louder and easier to execute as they will be in a sealed box and will have more cone area. If you are good a building a ported box and you can get those 8's the volume they need then give it a try.

Often times though a beefy 8 will need close to as much air space as a good 10 anyway.

The other day i was in a shop and the dude told me if i can get away with running a regular over shallow run a regular because the shallow is like hafe as loud as a deep mount subwoofer... The only deep subwoofer i can run would be a 10 would that be louder than a shallow mount 12

the only shallow mounts ive heard of that are any good are the JL Audio but come with a big price tag, the rest of the shallow mounts i heard arnt that good but are improving, ive been looking into them but decided againts ,get a good 10" sub instead

look into the new slim alpine type r its suposed to perform better then the "regular" mount type r

I got 2 8'' Image Dynamics waiting to be installed, wonder how loud they'll get :)

sure do got them BNIB for....pretty cheap threw a trade i did!!! still need to build a box for them and find an amp

nice, Jacob put a video out on how to strenghtem them for bigger power :) Those are some crazy woofers, wanted to go with e8 v.2 but still no pre-sale for them :(
