box for a 2005 dodge sx(neon)

Hey I been tryin out diff boxes this year, well this my first year competing. The best I been able to do so far was 147.3db, with my current box. 3.5cubes, drivers side slot port. I wanna try something a little diff, but not sure how it will fair since it for a hatch back... two one cube boxes, with the external ports out back...4"tube in each. angled in my trunk. any feedback would help... Bassworx says for optimum spl my boxes need to be 1.0cuft per sub@ 56hz.

the box in there now is facing forward, if I change to the two 1 cubes with tube external ports, the ports would be firing to back of trunk

Have you tried just reversing the box you have?

no, just based on the fact, that the box is so big, that I dont know how much air would actually make it to the front of the car. Its a large box, and doesnt leave much room to turn around

id do the box like your last one...just without the angled face. Seal the box to the trunk area so id isolates the wave from the trunk.

Try 3 cubes after displacements for the pair.

You'll never hit the nail on the head with a box going in blind....you need to test, then change something and re-test. Small changes at a time so you get an idea of what your vehicle likes.

Thumbs up

buy some 6" aeroports, the ability to tune the enclosure is worth it.
i'd give a sonotube box a try, for $20 you'll see if the box design will work for your car.
