Cadillac CTS

lets say you have a Cadillac CTS and you have 2 JL W7 12's with a 1000/1 for each!!!
What would you put in this car to get the mids and highs to be as loud as the bass????

Maybe he's looking for a constructive awnser? As the one you provided was useless, and not helpful at all....

You need to be more specific, Do you want some rear-fill in your system? Your gonna need lots of speaker, and depending on how many speakers, 2-3 300/2's.

If you want rear fill, put a set of the xr series coaxils in the rear deck, another set in the front doors, and go with a set of XR components in Custom kick panels in the front. Its not going to have good imaging but, it will be loud as hell... Use 3 300/2's.

Ps I have a set of XR 650's for sale, LOL... Pm if interested...

sorry for the double post I just wanted to hear what both sides had to say!
I think I went a little overkill on the subs, and now I have too much bass and wont be able to get the too o equalize if you know what I am saying.
See these are the answers I was looking for.
I was originally thinking about going with 2 sets of ZR 6.5 CSi's and a 450/4
1 set up front in the door and tweet in the a pillar, like the factory Bose. and 1 set in the rear for my passangers.
I don't mind going 2 300/2's at all if its going to be louder than the 450/4 and I don't know how much louder the ZR's are compared to the XR's, TR"s or VR's.
THe other problem I have that made me think one amp is I have a serious voltage prblem right now. when the bass hits my headlights just about turn off.

the 450/4 does 150x2 plus 75x2....the only way i could see you doing this is to have a 450/4 with the 150x2 on one set of front components (assuming you're putting two sets up front) then the remaining 75x2 to the rearfill, then you'll need a 300/2 to give 150x2 to the remaining front component set, thats a shitpile of amps though and I'd seriously consider looking into your electrical system before adding a thing

so let me ask just a couple more questions.

XR over the ZR components?
I was thinking putting set of components in the rear doors and a set in the front doors, will that be enough or do I need the coax's in the rear deck as well?
I think I will get the 300/2 for each pair I buy, makes more sense when I look at the price difference
And when I come to electrical, I was thinking a second battery in the trucnk on an isolator and then a 40 farad tsunami cap???
what do you guys think?

'03 CTS? The voltage drop is crazy in my car as well. I have a '96 deville concours. If you've looked around your car im sure there are loads of fuses and relays just as much, if not more than mine. I did the "Big 3" and it helped a bit, but I'm also getting a 4 farad cap to help. Also my alternator is a 130amp alt, which I'm upping to a 200+ a bit pricey but it will fix the problem I've been told.

How are the tweets on the pillar between the front windshield and the side windows? I was thinking of placing some there.

Thumbs up

You guys and your caps.......

Save the money you are going to put into the cap for your upgraded alternator and new, second battery.

Upgrade the big 3 and the headlight issue will go away.

The Caddy's have good factory locations, including the tweeter mounts in the A pillars. A car that size doesn't really need that much bass, if anything it will make it much more difficult and expensive to get the rest of the system loud enough to keep up with them.

One of the smoothest systems I've ever heard is in a late 90's STS....the guy has 1 13W7 in the HO box running off a 1000/1, and XR components front and rear running off a 450/4.

Just remember, it's a Cadillac!! You don't need to blow people's ears off to impress them in a ride like that......
