Where to start with this one... what impedance are the coils on your 3512s? dual 4? dual 2?

they are available in a few configurations i think... so the only way to be sure is to ask the guy you got em from. If you hapen to have a voltmeter around you can find out with it.. set it to impedence then check the voice coils.

use a multi meter and check the posts it will tell you if its 2ohm or 4ohm and if it has 2 sets of connections its a dual voice coil

If these are the ones you bought off of Mike from Castlegar then I am 99% certain that they are dual 4's. Running them parallel/parallel to that amp will yield a 1 ohm load which is perfect. Now, I would be more concerned with an enclosure design now. Is this for competing or daily musical listening?

Currently I am running two 3512's with the E motors (same as yours) and I am powering them with a DD M3 which is 2400 watts at 1 ohm. My enclosure is a 40 hz musical for daily listening and it gets pretty loud. I did a personal best at Andre's at 147.8 DB.

PM me for a great box design.

i now know that they are dual 2ohms im wondering what is the best way to wire em into my exile 2400.1 which is - Class D
- Stable down to 1 ohm
- 24dB crossover
- Subsonic filtering
- 1/0 gauge power and ground connectors
- Fuse size: 200A
- Multi amp strappable
-1600 x 1 @ 2 ohm
- 2400W x 1 @ 1 ohm (mono)
- 4800W x 1 @ 2 ohm (strapped)
-
this is all i could find under specs for the amp.thx again

im thinkin i prolly answered my own question , if the amp is 2 ohm stable n the subs are 2 ohm i would assume i run em at 2 ohms? does that mean that each sub is only getting 800 watts?
