pioneer 8600mp brand new deck

sub +5
Loud On

when tryin to burp it even at volume 5 i get bur bur bur bur bur bur constantly, but at volume 4 its fine. the deck does this at 140 db's somewhere in the mid 60's hz.

is this a skipping problem is this a foulty deck?

Not likely a problem with the deck.

Is the deck back braced in your dash?
Is it being used in the CRX pictured in your profile?

The reason I ask is that I also had a problem years ago with a deck in my CRX. I found that the CD player's transport had a resonant frequency equal to what my audio system was producing.

Let me know some more details & we'll get this situation solved.

Have you tried pulling it out of the dash and burping it while holding it?

I had a similar problem in my 323 a while ago. Anything over 145db and it would skip like crazy. I pulled it out a few inches and then it worked fine.

I know it's not legal for dbDrag but it can at least give you an idea for a starting point.

I had a posting for this same problem. What I did was sound deadened the area around the deck, and fabbed up some solid quarter inch steel braces. Fixed the problem.

is it a new CD u r using? I had that problem with one of my IASCA discs...it played fine in one deck but did the same what you are explaining in another deck... my NAK actually, but ended up the deck was on its way out and was extremely picky on the recordings of even original CDs... have you tried a different copy of the CD? is it the new DB Drag CD?

Prolifik 05-04-2005 06:44 AM

its the old db drag cd

MTA 05-04-2005 09:27 PM

how bad is the disc? try a new disc if you have it...or a newer copy

JordyO 05-05-2005 05:49 AM

Hrm... another suggestion.

Try upgrading the positive and negative wires going from your HU to the battery. Go directly to the batt instead of using the wiring harness.

I was also having huge problems with my HU skipping a while ago. Jon C. suggested I upgrade my power wire. I went with 8g from the batt directly to the HU and it helped a bunch.

(not enough power = HU can't read properly)

Prolifik 05-05-2005 06:49 AM

#1 its not the cd

#2 upgraded wires where done from the start

cmon guys, although i appreciate the input these are some "B" grade suggestions. i know u can do better.

Well... the answer is pretty simple, but you don't want to do it.

GET A CHANGER.

Prolifik 05-05-2005 10:54 AM

i never said i dont want to do it. u are the first one to suggest it as well.

JordyO 05-05-2005 12:52 PM

err... ok then.

NOW I'm suggesting it. Get a changer :D

Prolifik 05-05-2005 01:21 PM

i probably will

thanks for the advice
