Final Db Drag Rule Matrix for 2008

Competition Rules

PsychoAcoustics Canada 02-02-2008 04:11 PM

me likey

unholysavage 02-02-2008 04:16 PM

Hmmm, only a 650cuin battery allowed for street A. Looks like it's B or C for me.

JordyO 02-02-2008 07:02 PM

well f-ck me.... looks like my battery is no good for Street A any more...

Ahwell... at least the multi-cells are out.

Time to talk to some people about a new battery I guess. :ohwell:

Father Yuli 02-02-2008 07:06 PM

thank god i didnt buy a multicell yet.

sx4life 02-02-2008 07:14 PM

hey does this make my orbital extreme purple haze no good for st B??

johnw 02-02-2008 07:33 PM

I like the New rules, I know some of the Hardcore guys are pissed about the multicell battery rule, but for everyone else its perfect, I guess Street B for me this year. The numbers will be lower but it will be more within reach for most people without spending $10,000.00

Xpensive1 02-02-2008 08:10 PM

Street Max is going to be fun this year. Fred and I will be battling it out all year.

I might actually work on my vehicle during the year and not just days before the finals :)

DUMPED 02-02-2008 08:38 PM

lets see all the drama commence from the multi cell owners in Street..lol

ShockingCanada 02-02-2008 08:41 PM

...

People aren't that pissed even those who have multicells because they all know they would have had to buy another one before 2008 finals anyway because they would want to be sure its at its best for finals so even for those people they are saving money. This is why I waited for the rules to come out before buying a batt...now I am not sure if it will be street A or B for me though...I will have to think about it

JordyO 02-02-2008 08:49 PM

The only draw-back I can think of right now is that if you want to change between A & B then you need a new battery.

Not that it's a huge deal, but it does limit things a little bit.

ShockingCanada 02-02-2008 09:54 PM

...

yeah that part sucks. I am pretty sure my amps will be good running 2 on a 2150 but not so sure they will work well running one on a 1700. I will probobly get a 2150 and run 2 amp 2 woofers until I can get some TF1s

PsychoAcoustics Canada 02-03-2008 01:24 AM

Don Deezy likes the new rules alot

DUMPED 02-03-2008 02:51 AM

just a quick question.
what measurements are used to determine if a batt falls into a particular cubic inch requirement. Just curious on the formula, I have an idea but want clarification

thanks

Mat-Romain 02-03-2008 03:04 AM

physical size of the battery, say ur batt is 8" tall, 6 " wide and 10 " long, youd have a 480 cubic inch batterie

DUMPED 02-03-2008 03:12 AM

I was figuring it was H x W x D

just checking..thats all

George u do realize that he's talkin about the same thing? There is only one way to calculate the volume of a cube like shaped figure - such as an automotive battery.

i like the rules, Street C here i come.

LOWTONEZ 02-03-2008 07:46 AM

Im happy with the new rules. But im only one guy. There are gonna be many different opinions on the rules.

Mat-Romain 02-03-2008 08:45 AM

didnt touch my class, i cant complain...lol

silverbane 02-03-2008 12:22 PM

I wanted strapped amps for street a, but you dont always get what you want.

wasted911 02-03-2008 03:14 PM

ok, what batteries would be called multi-cell?

worldind 02-03-2008 03:24 PM

CS9000, DDZ battery and the likes - just get a mainstream batt like hawker/optima/kinetik and you'll be fine.

RustyWCA 02-19-2008 11:43 AM

It dident touch my class but i still dont like what they did to street, they should have left it alone, isent that why they introduced street stock anyways? really whats the diffrence,
1.Street Stock A you can run the car Street A you can't
2.Street Stock up to 16Volts Street A 14 volts
Is that it?

Brad-S.A. 02-19-2008 02:00 PM

In street stock you need to use 'approved' equipment. It is designed to allow newbs to compete with their alpine, rf, etc amps and subs.

DUMPED 02-19-2008 03:40 PM

I think it was a great idea to not allow multicells in Street
and to also cut in half the amplifier use in 1/2
