Finally made it to the 160+ club.

Well I just had my 1x dB Drag and after doing 159.7 in testing@47hz I surprized myself buy the score I got at the show. When I was getting measured I got the Riprock boys and a few others to hold my doors to see if that would help and it did 160.1 dB @47hz.

Now I know it did 162.4 with the amps at .3 ohm each but thats not smart to do with the amps. So the 160.1 officially put me over the 160 mark with a safe musical load of 1.4 ohm to each of the amps.

Murilio had his fluke meters on hand and we measured 11400 wrms from the two amps running at 4 ohm after rise and a starting load of 1.4 ohm.

The BassRace score was 155.4 and while I could have put it up a dB or two I am not willing to burn the coils to do it.

Thats with four AA Chaos 15D2's and two Stetsom 7k2D's and the five D1000's in the back.

I see D1's in my future as this would maximize the amps musical load potential of 1 ohm each before rise.

The weather was very windy, some rain, and cold. We had a crappy turn out (had two completely new competitors) but we had fun the whole day. After the show we all went to my place for a BBQ followed by a night of UFC at the local pub. Great shop talk and fun.

No pictures from me, my phone was dead and I was really busy with everything else maybe someone else got a video or pictures.

Nice. You're putting approx. 2850W to each when they're 800WRMS. You could safely play music at full tilt with 4 15" Mayhems on 11400W, so how aboot it? Can the Chaos's take 3500WRMS?

Chaos 89/89db 1W/1m / 11.4D1/16.9D2 BL
Mayhem 93/93.1db 1W/1m / +9mm x-max / 2500WRMS / 17.7D1/26.2D2 BL

About the same BL between D1's.

Is this in a van? Do you have the space for 18's? I saw a little hatch (All-Tech) hit 160.x with an (I think) RE MT 18" @ 45-50hz, I was standing 15' away and it didn't seem that loud, I've heard louder from a 12" in a daily box. I guess high freq's don't travel much. I need to sit in a vehicle playing music at 155db.

The chaos can't take it with that power for very long, I have clocked them doing 1500wrms safely all day demoing though but I can't recommend that without proper tuning.
The mayhem is an option they should take more power easily and I might try them someday. I expect them to be at least 1db just from the swap and it would get me closer to 159 bass race. But till then I just continue build and enjoy being able to still off road with it when I want
This is in the s10blazer with a drop in box and front walled off, its not perminant but I am not ruling out four 18's,six 15's or a dozen 12's in the future. The vehicle is tearing anything that is not reinforced apart so that needs addressed first.

I am not familiar with All Tech but the name sounds familiar. 15 feet away from most vehicles will never be as loud as standing next to it but 15 feet away from the blazer you can still feel the bass on your body quite well as many will agree that have heard it. I don't use any real high notes on my bass end of things, as I play under 50hz mainly and crossover about there too. Most people can't sit in a vehicle doing 155+ with music but thats normal.

As for pictures, you can see the whole build log up to the current point on my Facebook, I didn't think linking other sites was allowed here.

Test tones are weird. When I hear even a small setup playing music, driving around, you can hear those systems across town. When at a comp, it's like someone's in the trunk kicking it real fast, it's never as loud as I thought it would be lol. The loudest I've heard was 2 10" Visoniks on 1000W in a Jimmy 4dr, it was uncomfortable to sit in it listening to throw it up, it gave me a massage.

Ya I got many comments about the bass from people over 1/4 mile away after the show. but its pretty open where I live with sparse trees.
