you could do that!@ that would be making the companies recommended enclosure! they work well!
but what kind of sound were you going for? sound quality, or spl?? the box is what makes or breaks your system! sealed is beter for tight, good punch bass, and a ported box is good for the loud, low rumbling bass whcih is much louder as well! also keep space in mind, a ported box will take up a bit more space than a sealed one! good luck!

It's just my subs have a Qts of 0.533. And I always read to put them in a ported box if it's between 0.2-0.5 and sealed box if above 0.4.
I want the low Hz sound though. So i'm not sure which way to go, ported or sealed.
